    iPhone plus factory wired CarPlay. That covers most cars from 2016 onwards. You'll need two free USB ports — one for the adapter, one for the camera. It does not work with Android Auto, it does not work in cars that already have wireless CarPlay built in, and it does not work in Tesla or most aftermarket head units. Send us your make, model and year and we'll check it before you order.
    No app, no account, no sign-up. The adapter talks to your car's CarPlay directly. You pair your iPhone once over Bluetooth and from then on it connects automatically whenever you start the engine.
    No. The infrared is 940nm, which sits outside what the human eye can see. There's no red glow, no visible light and nothing shining at their face. You get a clear picture in complete darkness while they sleep through it.
    On the rear headrest, above and behind the seat. An infant seat is rear-facing, so the camera has to sit behind it and look forward and down at your child's face. It straps flat to the headrest with the included straps — no clamps, no adhesive, nothing that can come loose.
    Nothing is stored. There is no memory card slot, no cloud storage and no account. It's a live feed from the back seat to your dashboard. Nothing is saved and nothing leaves the car.
    Yes, and plenty of people do. Unclip the straps, pull the adapter out of the USB port, and set it up in the other car in a couple of minutes. Just make sure the second car also has factory wired CarPlay.
    Works the same way. Point it at the rear bench rather than a car seat and you can keep an eye on a dog, a crate, or older kids in the back row on long drives.
